I’m an adventurous, well traveled, outspoken 31 year old, white male Scorpio, who is currently living in Luanda, Angola!
My passions are digital photography, mountain biking, scuba diving, sailing, the outdoors, travelling, experiencing new cultures, making new acquaintances, socialising and beach bat!
I am currently working in Luanda for an IT company out of Cape Town, South Africa. I arrived on Sunday the 17th February 2008, and should be here here for a long time to come. I have signed a 1 year contract with the company, but am considering looking long-term. Why Luanda??
Well, that’s a very good question. So, let’s interrogate that a bit. Well I was basically off to London, after having been offered a job with a great ISP in Cape Town, then applying for a job with another really awesome company in London, and not too sure if I was actually going to get it, I was presented with an opportunity to go work in Luanda as an Operations Manager. So, London, or Luanda??? Tough call . . . I chose Luanda. Adventure, excitement, change, a new culture, and really good money all were factors in convincing me to take the plunge.
So, join me as I document my experiences and adventures in Angola. Hopefully they’ll keep you entertained and in the know. If not, well, it’s one way to pass the day I guess.
In the near future I plan to get a gallery site up and running, and visually share with you the amazing culture that is Luanda.

NB: In January 2006 I was priviledged enough to be given the opportunity to sail from Cape Town to St Maartens in the Caribbean on a 30ft Muira with a 67yr old Codger. The journey took 49 days and was quite an experience to say the least. I will shortly begin blogging this journey too. Keep an eye on my site to be kept up to date on this diary.
